609.202.3973

Molly Sanger Carpenter lives and works from

her farmhouse studio in Salem, NJ. Trained in classical sculpture

techniques and materials, she now often incorporates elements of mixed

media to create her artworks. Her current focus is on creating “fine and

unusual” art icons, combining elements of sculpture, glass, paint, and

24k gold.

Molly graduated from Tatnall (having received the first Gold Medal for

Excellence in Art) and matriculated to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine

Arts in Philadelphia. According to her website bio, she studied with

many talented and established local artists in her formative years, which

helped her form a foundation of material knowledge and enabled her to

venture out on her own in her early twenties. In 1987, she was

commissioned for the 12-foot bronze Constitutional Compass Rose on

Legislative Mall in Dover, Delaware, followed by a series of bronze

commissions from public and private clients. Later, she added

experience in stone, concrete, glass, welding and other media.

Molly’s work has been featured in exhibitions throughout the Mid-

Atlantic and beyond over a decorated 40-year career, including many

galleries and venues in Delaware, New Jersey, Philadelphia and NYC.
